The Position

As a Technology Consultant, you will serve as a strategic thought leader and go-to expert for the Data Management & Data Quality Platforms (DMDQ) organization. You will lead cross-functional teams on high-impact, complex products, anticipating changing business conditions and recommending strategic directions with enterprise-wide implications. By engaging with senior leaders and scaling Agile frameworks, you will align priorities across product squads and resolve unprecedented problems. You will shape product roadmaps, influence domain strategy using extensive industry knowledge, and masterfully mentor colleagues to foster a highly collaborative, safe, and innovative team environment.

The Data Management & Data Quality Platforms (DMDQ) organization builds an intelligent data ecosystem that converts fragmented information into a high-speed engine for scientific innovation. This role provides cross-cutting technical leadership across the four platform pillars: Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Terminology & Ontology Management, and Data Quality.

This position ensures architectural coherence, drives innovation (AI-augmented data management, semantic layer, knowledge graphs), and provides the engineering backbone for strategic objectives while delivering hands-on platform leadership within the DMDQ Platforms organization.

Job Responsibilities

Scope / Content Leadership: Leads cross-functional teams across the DMDQ portfolio to deliver high-impact and complex platform capabilities. Shapes and influences technical strategy for the 2-3 year platform roadmap. Drives platform evaluation and sourcing decisions with clear recommendations to leadership. Ensures architectural coherence across all four DMDQ pillars.
Accountability / Problem Solving: Decides on critical technical topics with significant enterprise impact. Solves unique problems spanning multiple domains and platforms. Architects and drives implementation of AI-augmented capabilities (eg. Semantic Layer, knowledge graphs) enabling AI Agents to autonomously retrieve and reason with enterprise data. Scales Agile frameworks to align priorities across multiple platform squads.
Stakeholder Management: Engages with senior stakeholders and executives across DMDQ and cross-organizational initiatives (eg. MOVE, RDE Data Foundation, Site Engagement Hub). Represents DMDQ technical perspective in leadership forums and vendor negotiations. Communicates complex technical strategy and architectural decisions with clarity and impact.
Impact / Strategy: Acts as go-to person for leaders in DMDQ, determining strategic direction in AI-augmented data management and platform innovation. Champions AI adoption and enablement across all DMDQ roles. Influences platform strategy using extensive industry knowledge. Provides technical leadership on high-impact programs and mentors colleagues to develop expertise.
Complexity / Product Size: Leads complex, enterprise-wide platform initiatives with cross-organizational implications. Anticipates changing business conditions and recommends strategic directions to management.
Business / Technical Ability: Maintains strong reputation recognized internally and externally due to impact, expertise, and collaboration. Possesses deep expertise in data management, platform architecture, and AI integration. Stays abreast of technology innovation (semantic technologies, knowledge graphs, modern data architectures).

Who you are:

Education / Experience

8+ years of Consultancy experience, including 5+ years in life sciences/pharma or the assigned business function being supported.
Proven track record of leading complex projects with enterprise-wide implications and anticipating changing business conditions.

Technical Skills

Deep expertise in multiple data management and platform engineering capabilities (MDM, metadata management, data quality).
Strong proficiency in modern data architecture patterns (semantic layers, knowledge graphs, graph databases).
Hands-on experience with AI/LLM integration and/or AI-augmented software development.
Ability to evaluate and recommend enterprise platforms and open-source alternatives.
Strong ability to scale Agile frameworks to align priorities across multiple squads or product teams.

Additional Qualifications

Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and executives, managing expectations and communicating technical strategy with clarity and impact.
Mastery in coaching and mentoring colleagues to solve particular problems and develop their skills within a safe and collaborative environment.
Proven ability to drive organizational change and enable adoption across diverse role profiles.
