Neuroscience Medical Science Liaison - Spain and Portugal

Description

We are seeking a field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to support the Neuroscience and Psychiatry therapy area across international markets. This role is focused on building trusted scientific partnerships with healthcare professionals, investigators, and key opinion leaders to advance medical education, clinical evidence generation, and patient care.

Acting as the primary scientific interface between the organisation and the external medical community, the MSL will deliver high-quality scientific exchange, gather valuable medical insights, and support clinical research activities. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive evidence generation, enhance stakeholder engagement, and support strategic medical objectives. Leveraging innovative approaches, including digital engagement and real-world evidence, the MSL will contribute to the successful execution of medical initiatives while ensuring the highest standards of ethics, compliance, and patient focus.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain trusted scientific relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, investigators, patient advocacy groups, medical societies, and other relevant stakeholders within the neuroscience and psychiatry community.
  • Deliver accurate, balanced, and compliant scientific exchange on disease management, emerging data, and developments within the neuroscience therapeutic area.
  • Identify insights, unmet needs, treatment trends, and opportunities within the local medical landscape to inform medical strategy.
  • Support clinical research activities through investigator engagement, study site identification, feasibility assessments, and patient recruitment initiatives.
  • Facilitate evidence generation through collaboration with clinical investigators and support for investigator-sponsored and company-sponsored research activities.
  • Develop and execute territory medical engagement plans aligned to regional and global medical objectives.
  • Gather and communicate actionable medical insights from the field to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Support advisory boards, medical education programmes, scientific meetings, and congress activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, and Commercial functions.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations, compliance requirements, pharmacovigilance standards, and ethical guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Advanced scientific or medical degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent); candidates with significant pharmaceutical industry experience and a relevant scientific background may also be considered.
  • Strong knowledge and experience within Neuroscience and/or Psychiatry, gained through clinical, research, or pharmaceutical industry roles.
  • Proven experience engaging with healthcare professionals, investigators, and key opinion leaders through scientific exchange.
  • Experience supporting clinical trials, including site identification, feasibility assessments, investigator engagement, and patient recruitment.
  • Ability to interpret, analyse, and communicate complex scientific and clinical data effectively.
  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally within matrix organisations.
  • Understanding of local healthcare systems, regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and pharmacovigilance processes.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset, strategic thinking, and ability to operate effectively in dynamic and evolving environments.
  • Fluency in English and relevant local language(s) where applicable.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory, including international travel when required.
