The Position

We are looking for an Associate System Engineer to join our international “IT Operations & Laboratories EHS” team of experts dedicated to design, implement, maintain, and deploy systems that support Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) processes across the globe! This position can be filled in Biberach or Ingelheim.
Tasks & responsibilities
- In your role, you will define, develop, implement, enhance and maintain systems that support EHS capabilities within the company, these might include: Applications and systems that support our internal fire brigades, waste management processes, hazardous substance management, risk management and many other EHS processes.
- Furthermore, you will support and work with innovative initiatives such as leveraging AI when possible within our field, helping to shape the future roadmap of such technologies within the company.
- You will collaborate closely with Business Key Users and IT professionals to prioritize and plan the implementation of changes and projects.
- Working to establish yourself to lead projects and contribute significantly to large project teams, creating detailed project plans and delivering on them, including vendor management will also be part of your role.
- Finally, you will ensure all project activities align with methodologies and maintain robust security and audit requirements in compliance with the company’s policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, like business informatics
- First years of professional experience within IT e.g. as a system engineer/ system analyst
- Solid understanding of IT concepts, architecture and terminology, such as databases, servers, web services, cloud-based set ups, APIs, amongst others
- Experience within EHS area and pharma industry knowledge is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills with a results-driven attitude, innovative thinking, team-orientation and top-notch communication skills
- Fluent English and German skills (written and spoken)
