Job Summary

The Director, Business Excellence & Analytics acts as a strategic partner to the General Manager and the Leadership Team, driving operational excellence, strategic decision-making, a data-driven culture and cross-functional alignment across commercial, Medical, Market Access and Finance. This role ensures that business insights planning, and analytics translate into sustainable performance and capability growth over time.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a thought partner to the GM and Department Heads, constructively challenging the status quo, identifying performance levers, and shaping strategic solutions.
  • Foster a performance mindset and continuous improvement culture , ensuring accountability, learning, and excellence across functions.
  • Translate data and market insights into forward-looking business strategies
  • Collaborate closely with Finance and International Operations to align business direction and define successful drivers
  • Lead initiatives that improve organizational efficiency, agility, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Define and govern strategic KPIs to ensure data informs priorities, accountability, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and evolve an advanced analytics capability that integrates commercial, financial, and operational data.
  • Deliver strategic insights and predictive models to support business planning, scenario analysis, and performance reviews.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment between Commercial, Medical, Market Access and other key functions to ensure optimized and integrated business execution.
  • Lead mid- to long-term strategic planning in collaboration with local leadership and international operations, shaping business priorities and future capabilities.
  • Support strategic workforce planning , ensuring resource allocation, organizational design, and capability evolution are aligned with business ambitions and budget cycles.
  • Drive the adoption of a data-driven mindset across teams by simplifying complex information and demonstrating the value of analytical rigor.
  • Partner with BU Head and Finance to embed analytics and business intelligence into leadership routines and performance management.
  • Support strategic workforce planning , ensuring resource allocation, organizational design, and capability evolution are aligned with business ambitions and budget cycles.
  • Co-lead critical initiatives, focusing on innovation, growth, and operational sustainability.
  • Acts in line with the Mission, Vision and Values and principles of the organization.
  • Contributes positively to a strong culture of business integrity and ethics, acting within compliance and legal requirements as well as within company guidelines.

Requirements

  • MBA or University level degree in Business Administration/Engineering or Other Degree and comparable business knowledge
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic roles within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector (Business Excellence, Strategic Planning, or Commercial Strategy)
  • Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and constructively challenging business assumptions
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate analysis into actionable strategies
  • Strong team player and cross-functional collaboration skills with multiple internal stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and German
  • Expertise in data storytelling, analytics, and performance management frameworks
  • Independent, structured thinker with a strong sense of ownership and results orientation
  • Embodies continuous improvement, innovation, and strategic curiosity
