As such, we are creating a pivotal role to lead this ambition:
Director of Public Affairs Inflammation and Autoimmunity (IAI)
This position will define how Incyte’s strategy for immune-mediated dermatological conditions is understood, trusted and embraced by the German healthcare ecosystem. It will ensure stakeholder alignment, policy enablement, and long-term market shaping to unlock innovation and access for patients.
The Role
As Director of Public Affairs working with IAI (Inflammation & Autoimmunity) Business Unit, you will design and lead the external positioning of one of Incyte’s most strategic therapeutic areas (dermatology), in one of the most influential healthcare markets.
To strengthen Incyte’s leadership in dermatology and support portfolio success, you will shape the external environment by building and maintaining trust-based, multi-stakeholder alliances - including patients, healthcare professionals, media, advocacy organisations.
Your mission is to ensure that:
- The dermatology strategy in Germany delivers tangible business impact, directly supporting launches, portfolio growth and long-term franchise value by engaging in market shaping projects
- Patients and their communities experience Incyte as a committed, credible and long-term partner
- Journalists and media partners regard Incyte as a trusted reference in scientific innovation, ensuring strong, consistent and high-quality visibility
- Incyte’s innovation is translated into impact, trust and influence
- Incyte is recognized as a scientific leader in immune-mediated dermatological conditions
- Incyte leads / is a core member of high‑impact collaborations and external alliances that enhance Incyte’s credibility, broaden advocacy reach, and create collective momentum for policy and access improvements.
You will act as a senior strategic partner to the German Leadership Team and a key contributor to Incyte’s regional and global Public Affairs and Corporate Communications strategy.
The Strategic Mandate
Build and lead the dermatology and IAI communications strategy
You will define and execute a comprehensive communications and patient advocacy strategy supporting the full IAI (esp. dermatology) portfolio in Germany, positioning Incyte as a valued stakeholder and partner in the German healthcare ecosystem.
Your scope will include:
- Designing integrated franchise and portfolio public affairs strategies, ensuring communication and patient advocacy projects are aligned with business and brand priorities
- Acting as a key partner to the Market Access, Commercial and Medical teams in Germany to align advocacy, access, and communication efforts and allow for multi-stakeholder collation building
- Leading high-impact launch campaigns and communication programs across product lifecycle, corporate and disease awareness platforms for upcoming IAI (immunology / dermatology) assets
- Strengthening company, franchise and brand reputation across scientific, medical, professional and general audiences in order to enhance stakeholder engagement, and create an enabling environment for successful product access, uptake, and sustained growth.
You will position Incyte as a reference company in immune-mediated dermatological conditions.
Anchor patient centricity at the heart of Incyte’s strategy
You will establish patient engagement as a strategic pillar of Incyte’s presence in Germany, elevating patient voice from engagement to strategic influence .
You will:
- Build long-term, trust-based partnerships with patient, advocacy and civil organizations
- Develop innovative collaboration models that advance understanding of patient journeys and unmet needs
- Integrate patient insights into brand strategy, communication platforms and internal decision-making
- Engaging in respectful collaboration with patient advocacy groups and driving meaningful co-creation of impactful initiatives.
- Represent Incyte in key patient and advocacy forums and networks
Strengthening influence across the healthcare ecosystem
You will develop and sustain a first-class external network across:
- Scientific, trade and general media
- Digital opinion leaders and emerging platforms
- Patient organisations, community leaders, civil societies, grassroot advocates and healthcare-relevant NGOs and institutions
To advance organization’s business ambitions, you will demonstrate the ability to bring together multiple stakeholders around shared key healthcare priorities, in line with company’s strategy. You will lead cross-sector collaborations and policy-shaping initiatives that reflect shared goals with public, private and civil society actors, to shape an environment conducive to innovation adoption. Through credibility, consistency and strategic intelligence, you will position Incyte as a trusted, visible and respected partner of the German healthcare system .
Act as a strategic advisor to the organization
Operating at the center of launches, growth and transformation, you will:
- Contribute actively to brand and franchise strategic planning
- Deliver measurable public affairs outcomes that advance strategic objectives, including advocacy reach, access enablers and reputation metrics
- Provide external intelligence and ecosystem insight to senior leadership and cross-functional teams
- Partner closely with Medical, Market Access, Commercial, HEOR, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance and Pharmacovigilance
- Ensure excellence in governance, ethics and compliance across all external engagements
You will combine strategic vision, operational excellence and executive presence .
Your Profile
You bring:
- 8–10+ years of experience in healthcare public affairs, patient advocacy and communications
- Very good understanding of healthcare environment in Germany
- Knowledge of the area of dermatology, inflammation or immune-mediated diseases would be a strong asset
- A proven track record in launch communications and environment shaping through external alliances
- Deep, established networks across German media and professional communities
- A history of successful collaboration with patient organisations
You are recognized for:

- Credibility with senior stakeholders and external partners
- Ability to operate in complex, matrix and fast-evolving organizations
Fluent in German and English , you combine scientific literacy with outstanding communication and leadership skills.
