We are searching for the best talent for our Associate Director (m/f/d) Commercial Strategy & Market Development - Germany position.

The Associate Director, Commercial Strategy & Market Development - Germany (m/f/d) is responsible for J&J MedTech’s Interatrial Shunting commercial strategy and performance in Germany, including commercial strategy, execution & growth. By fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, innovation and inclusion, they empower their team to develop the market, deliver meaningful outcomes and achieve ambitious growth objectives resulting in more patients benefiting from life-changing technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish a Successful Commercial Organization

  • Accountable for execution and evolution of the German commercial strategy (including organizational and compensation design, sales strategy and operations, etc.) to deliver on launch commitments and drive market penetration.
  • Meet or exceed growth and revenue targets aligned with broader business objectives as the leader with accountability for the P&L of the Interatrial Shunting business in Germany.
  • Build, develop, and lead a world-class high performing team with clearly defined responsibilities and well-understood expectations, fostering a culture of accountability, innovative problem solving, constructive candor, and collective success.

Lead a Successful Commercial Organization

  • Formulate, communicate, and implement sales objectives, incentive plans, policies, and strategic plans to maximize country sales and operational growth in partnership with global and cross-functional business leadership. Ensure commercial strategy is aligned with key stakeholders and communicated to the organization with clarity, transparency, and informed authority.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Interatrial Shunting LT, J&J MedTech organization and other stakeholders to ensure the business runs effectively, support mid-term and long-range business objectives and communicate customer and market insights.
  • Create a purpose-driven environment; one that attracts talent from across Medtech due to its demonstrated success, collaborative emphasis, and focus on intentional talent development. Ensure sustained commercial growth by maintaining and fostering a development pipeline of future successful commercial leaders.

Scale Growth & Maximize Value

  • Identify and capitalize on external and internal partnership opportunities to maximize value and drive growth.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and opinion leaders, assuring strong partnership programs with Key Opinion Leaders in the market.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of current publications, emerging science, technological developments and trends on relevant therapies and competitive products.
  • Conduct business activities in compliance with ethics, legal and regulatory requirements, fostering a culture of compliance in their organization.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years sales and marketing leadership experience, with solid business acumen and knowledge of the German cardiovascular medical device market environment is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience leading a commercial team, including leading and inspiring teams through high growth and change is required.
  • Bachelors degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate vision, engage and mobilize a large, multi-functional team around that vision and drive superior performance while effectively recruiting, developing and retaining talent is required.
  • Strategic understanding of internal and external end-to-end dynamics influencing business outcomes, and the proven ability to develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to effectively shape business strategy and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience building successful customer relationships and leveraging customer insights to build and drive commercial strategy is required.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly and effectively in both German and English language is mandatory, written and spoken
  • Heart failure device landscape expertise strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in market development and launch of a novel device/therapy strongly preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is 87.300 to 140.530 EUR.
