We are searching for the best talent for a Raw Material Planner / Buyer in Norderstedt.
The Raw Material Buyer-Planner’s main responsibility is to order raw materials within a timely manner to guarantee continuous supply. The function has to consider all necessary parameters like leadtime, safety stocks, inventory targets, conversions, prices. Further, the Raw Material Buyer-Planner needs to follow up on open orders, overdue orders and urgent deliveries and communicate them with the Capacity Planning teams and other internal departments.
Please note that for this role we offer 24 months fixed term contract.

As a Raw Material Planner / Buyer, you will:
Under limited supervision with upper management and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
The function needs to establish and maintain the proper contacts with the different suppliers and with the manufacturing plants.
The Raw Material Buyer-Planner is also responsible to maintain data accuracy in the planning systems, order alignment between different systems and handle credit notes and invoice mismatches if applicable.
Supply of Materials
- Responsible for the procurement of Raw and Packaging Materials by converting the Production Schedule into weekly material requirements to ensure availability of the right quantity of components.
- Ensure that all material delivery schedules are communicated to the suppliers on time in order to meet plan requirements (confirm PO)
- Expedite operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions due to material challenges
- Manage potential abrupt deviations to the plan assessing with the suppliers the feasibility of the changes, rapidly highlighting to the affected internal stakeholders if the changes are not possible
- Interface with QA and warehouse staff regarding rejected/defective materials, making the necessary physical arrangements with the supplier to ensure a prompt return of goods or disposal
Interface with Suppliers
- Liaise with the suppliers to clarify potential plan constraints and interfaces between supplier and internal stakeholders
- Responsible for the S&OP processes for suppliers
- Timely clearance of invoice mismatches, creation of credit orders and subsequent matching of credit notes to credit orders.
Projects & Conversions
- Support the specification change by sending out and following up the new specification with the supplier
Inventory Management
- Perform the inventory entitlement for raw materials
- Full understanding of inventory content of raw materials (quantity & value)
- Manage material inventory levels and customer service levels within targets.
- Ensure timely analysis and management of SLOB to support company objective to reduce SLOB.
- Adjust inventory after cycle counting. Clarify the inventory and follow initiates the write-off process
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Education: University Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; Supply Chain Certification (APCIS/IBF) desired
- Years of experience: 0-5 years
- Good written & spoken German
- Good written & spoken English
Technical skills & competencies:
- Experience with ERP (SAP/APO/SNP) and APS
- Planning or manufacturing experience in a medical/pharmaceutical or consumer industry
- Familiarity with relevant legislation (import/export, ISO)
Knowledge, skills and capabilities:
- Strong decision making skills
- Ability to work with associates of all levels
- Ability to influence others in a matrix environment
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships, considering diverse perspectives and styles
- Strong analytical skills, must be able to relate and compare and to identify key issues
- Data mining & reporting skills through MS Excel or equivalent
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
