We are looking for Site Operations Head Cologne to join our team.

The Site Head manages the site’s operations (Manufacturing, Technical Services (Engineering, Maintenance, Site Services, OT), OE, HSE) and coordinates other site related activities QA/QC, Supply Chain, Management, MSAT, HR, Finance) for all products and services and in order to achieve the sites safety, quality, delivery, people and financial objectives.

As Site Head, this position has primary responsibility for the Cologne Site’s performance, development and implementation of the Site’s strategy, alignment with the Lonza’s operational network, and supporting the commercial business unit.

Key responsibilities :

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent.

  • Ensure that HSE requirements are implemented as per legal and Lonza requirements. Is driving a proactive safety culture.

  • Coordinate with Site QA Head to assure expected compliance level are achieved as per applicable standards. Drives a proactive quality culture.

  • Implement and maintain continuous improvement programs within LBMS to drive cost reduction initiatives, productivity, quality and service improvements.

  • Take an active site leadership role in communicating and deploying Operations and Business goals, missions and strategies as developed by the LBS Leadership team and Lonza Corporate.

  • Ensure that Lonza Corporate programs are implemented at the site.

  • Ensure that there is proper coordination and alignment of all functions within the site and in the BioScience matrix organization.

  • Manage the manufacturing facilities and ensures all functional requirements (infrastructure, production capacity..) are in place to meet current and future demands for new and existing products through appropriate capital planning/spending, procurement and mobilization of appropriate resources, continual communication and coordination with business development activities.

  • Develop site master plans and CAPEX plans for the site.

  • Develop site annual target plans in alignment with the BU BSR.

  • Ensure budgets, schedules and performance requirements are met.

  • Coaching and development of the Site Leadership Team, ensuring both alignment and growth as a team and individuals, delivering successfully as a business and as professionals.

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to drive appropriate alignment/ redundancy between productions sites to create dual-sourcing opportunities where appropriate for customers and to maximize business continuity.

  • Active member of the Bioscience Operations leadership team who adds value through sharing best practices, experiences and ideas to the benefit of the global operations team.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Direct reports 5-7; Through others: 30-100.
