
Junior AI Specialist
Description
As a Junior AI Specialist within the Innovation Team, you will play a hands-on role in building, testing, and scaling AI-powered workflows and solutions that drive both internal efficiencies and enhanced client services.
Based in our Munich office and working alongside the Senior AI Consultant and AI Specialist (UK based) and our wider global network of AI experts, you will support the development of reusable frameworks and help ensure solutions can be deployed consistently across business units.
This role is ideal for someone eager to apply coding and AI skills in real-world business contexts, while learning best practices in enterprise AI development, deployment, and scaling. You’ll contribute to making Syneos an AI-augmented agency , where AI enhances how we work and what we deliver to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Development & Builds
- Support the design and build of AI-powered workflows to fulfil business units’ specific needs
- Write, test, and maintain Python scripts and APIs to support bespoke builds.
- Assist in developing front-end interfaces or integrations for internal tools.
- Explore new AI capabilities (e.g. agents, action schema, multimodal models) and pilot them in relevant workflows
- Help adapt bespoke builds into modular frameworks that can be reused across multiple BUs
- Follow coding standards, version control and documentation practices.
- Gather feedback from users to improve usability and adoption.
- Stay up to date with the latest AI tools and frameworks, sharing learnings with the team.
- Assist in identifying where AI can create new opportunities for client services.
- Contribute to internal workshops, pilots, and prototypes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related discipline or demonstrable coding/AI experience.
- Strong knowledge of Python and experience using AI APIs (e.g. OpenAI).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively.
- Interest in healthcare/pharmaceuticals and eagerness to learn about industry-specific applications of AI.
- Fluent in German and English
