About the Role
As our Field Medical Lead Dermatology (m/f/d) , you will shape and drive UCB’s medical excellence within the German dermatology ecosystem. In this strategic field-based leadership role, you will lead the Dermatology Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team, ensure high-quality scientific exchange, elevate medical insight generation, and implement a robust field medical plan aligned with UCB’s therapeutic ambitions.
Reporting directly to the Medical Head Immunology Germany, you will play a pivotal role in developing talent, fostering cross functional collaboration, and strengthening UCB’s medical footprint among external stakeholders.
This will be a fixed term role for one year with the option to become permanent.
What You Will Do
Field Medical Leadership & Strategy
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the Dermatology MSL team to deliver high-impact, compliant medical engagement.
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop MSL team members to ensure excellence in UCB's external scientific engagement.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Medical Planning
- Steer and execute local dermatology field-medical planning and contribute to the dermatology Integrated Strategic Plan.
- Work with cross functional teams to ensure field medical strategy aligns with asset strategy and local ecosystem needs.
External Engagement & Medical Governance
- Establish and maintain UCB’s medical presence with external experts, medical societies, advocacy groups, and key decision-makers.
- Support evidence generation activities like RCTs, NIS and investigator sponsored research.
- Ensure a seamless collaboration with UCBCares for proper medical information handling.
Operational & Strategic Management
- Oversee the administrative and operational management of the local MSL team.
- Manage the dermatology field medical budget responsibly and proactively.
Who You Will Work With
In this role, you will collaborate closely with:
- The Medical Head Immunology Germany and the Immunology Medical Leadership Team
- The Dermatology MSL Team as their direct leader and coach
- The Dermatology Medical Strategy Lead and EU/Global Medical Affairs peers
- The Dermatology Leadership Team including cross functional teams like marketing, sales and market access
- External stakeholders such as key opinion leaders, medical societies, and advocacy groups
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills:
- Master’s degree in a biomedical discipline, pharmacy or medicine (Ph.D. preferred).
- Strong scientific acumen with the ability to translate complex data into stakeholder relevant insights.
- Experience in dermatology or another related inflammatory discipline is a plus.
- Proven leadership experience in managing, coaching, and developing field medical teams.
- Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to deliver medical value in a competitive ecosystem.
- Solid understanding of medical governance and compliance requirements.
