As Global Commercial Associate Director, you will provide global strategic leadership for current and future obesity projects with significant growth potential for Novo Nordisk. You will drive commercial product development for key pipeline assets, including Zenagamtide and future projects, bringing market, customer, access and competitive insights into product strategy and shaping development priorities from early asset planning through launch and lifecycle considerations.
Your new role
Within the CagriSema & Zenagamtide Projects team in Obesity Strategy & Projects, you will drive commercial workstreams that shape product profiles, evidence priorities, claims strategy and portfolio recommendations. You will work across a global matrix organisation to ensure commercial requirements are clearly embedded in product development and governance decisions.
Success in this role requires strong commercial acumen, the ability to create alignment across functions and geographies, and confidence influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Drive key commercial strategy workstreams, including Target Product Profile input, claims strategy and go-to-market considerations
- Embed commercial, customer and access requirements into the Product Development Plan and evidence generation priorities
- Develop commercial assessments, business cases and governance recommendations that inform prioritisation and investment decisions
- Lead Commercial Project Teams and align Access, Pricing, Insights, Competitive Intelligence, Medical, Development and other functions around one clear commercial perspective
- Prepare concise commercial narratives and materials for senior leadership decision-making
- Contribute to asset strategy, portfolio direction and the Obesity Therapy Area Strategy through actionable commercial recommendations
Your new department:
In Product & Portfolio Strategy, you will join the Obesity Strategy & Projects team responsible for defining the commercial direction of Novo Nordisk's future obesity portfolio. Working closely with Global Medical Affairs, Global Marketing, Development, Regions and Affiliates, the team shapes product, portfolio and investment decisions that support long-term competitiveness and sustainable growth.
Your skills & qualifications:
We are looking for a commercially strong Associate Director who can connect strategic insight with product development impact. To succeed in this role, you likely have:
- A master’s degree (or above) in a relevant field
- 10+ years of relevant experience across commercial strategy, asset strategy, product development, marketing and/or portfolio management within pharma.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to turn insights into clear product, evidence and portfolio recommendations.
- Proven ability to build trust, create alignment and influence senior stakeholders across a complex global matrix organisation.
- Experience driving complex cross-functional projects or workstreams; formal project management training is an advantage.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Residency in Denmark.
