As a Bioinformatics Specialist, you will provide bioinformatics support to clinical and exploratory studies, helping to shape omics-based biomarker plans and deliver high-quality analyses for regulatory submissions, publications and project decisions.

You will work at the interface of bioinformatics, clinical development and biological science, collaborating with colleagues across Biostatistics, Medical, Science Search and Innovation, Statistical Programming and Global Medical Affairs.

Your Role

You will drive the analysis of molecular biomarker data from clinical studies, with a particular focus on omics data. You will provide scientific and tactical input into clinical biomarker plans and omics technology activities, including transcriptomics, proteomics, lipidomics and microbiome data.

• Drive bioinformatics analyses of molecular biomarkers from clinical and exploratory studies.
• Collaborate with biostatisticians on statistical models and with development pharmacologists on the biological rationale for analyses.
• Contribute data analysis and visualisation to clinical biomarker reports, presentations and publications.
• Perform data ingestion and pre-processing, while organising data storage and accessibility.
• Contribute to the planning of biomarker packages through statistical guidance and advice on technology and methodology.

Your qualifications

To succeed in this role, we imagine that you have the following qualifications:

• A PhD in bioinformatics, biostatistics or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience working at the interface of bioinformatics and clinical or biological sciences.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the statistical analysis and visualisation of omics biomarker data using R and/or Python.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

It would be advantageous if you also have experience with AI, machine learning or deep learning; lipidomics and/or microbiome data within clinical biomarker packages; or dermatology and/or immunology.

You will work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with Development Pharmacologists, Biostatisticians, Medical Experts, Skin Scientists and Medical Advisors.

The role also involves collaboration with colleagues in Biostatistics, the Medical Department, Science Search and Innovation, Statistical Programming and Global Medical Affairs.

Together, the team supports the development and application of clinical biomarker strategies and bioinformatics approaches that can create value across Search and Development and at the interface with Science Search and Innovation.
