Novo Nordisk søker en

Associate Project Portfolio Manager

Kalundborg, Denmark

Associate Project Portfolio Manager

Your impact begins here

As Associate Project Portfolio Manager, you will give Novo’s investment (CAPEX) projects the overview they need to move forward. Working across projects rather than inside one, you will make sure governance is followed, turn project data into clear dashboards and visuals, and spot obstacles early. Your work supports the teams decisions at every gate, helps project managers deliver, and keeps investments in production capacity on track for people who rely on Novo’s treatments.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience from project coordination, project support or a junior or associate project role, or from a finance setting that follows investment projects, with a clear understanding of what it means to work to a defined project model.
  • Comfort with numbers: you enjoy collecting, checking and consolidating schedules, budgets and forecasts, and presenting them in Excel and PowerPoint in a way others can act on.
  • A structured, systematic way of working. You like seeing how systems and processes fit together, and you tackle problems with method rather than improvisation.
  • The persistence to stay with a task until it is finished, month after month, and keep the routine running.
  • The ability to influence without formal authority and to explain complex topics clearly to different stakeholders.
  • Relevant education in engineering, business administration, finance, project management or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Useful, but not essential:

  • Experience as an Associate Project Manager.
  • Experience with CAPEX or other investment projects.
  • A track record of creating overviews of complex systems and processes.
  • Manufacturing or regulated-industry experience, including awareness of GxP, and project management training.

What you’ll do

You will be the managers right hand in project governance, working across the investment portfolio to make progress visible and decisions easier.

  • Support the gatekeeper role by checking that deliverables for each project gate are in place, of the right quality and on time, and that decision material is ready for approval.
  • Collect, consolidate and quality-check schedules, budgets, forecasts and status updates with project managers and Finance.
  • Build dashboards and visuals that show priorities, budgets, milestones, risks and dependencies, so the manager can quickly judge whether a project is ready to move on.
  • Anticipate obstacles across projects, such as shared resources, overlapping timelines and dependencies, and support project managers before they become problems.
  • Connect project managers who are at similar stages or share equipment or resources, so they can help each other and align early.
  • Prepare analyses and scenarios for the half-yearly portfolio prioritisation, and improve templates, reporting and working practices with the team.

Who you’ll work with

You will join a Project Management Office for investment projects in Global Manufacturing & Supply, where colleagues work across the value chain to scale and deliver Novo products for the people who need them. The office is responsible for executing investment projects at a finished product site and for managing the portfolio, including which projects to prioritise and whether resources are in place to deliver them.

You will report to Sebastian, who leads a team of 15 and acts as gatekeeper for governance in project management. You will work side by side with them and present your analyses together. Your closest partners will be the project managers, project owners and sponsors, and Finance and controlling colleagues. You will also draw on input from site management, engineering, operations and Quality, and prepare material for the leadership forums that approve each gate.

The role is a stepping stone. By seeing how projects run and how the factory works, you can grow towards portfolio manager or project manager.

What you can expect here

You will have real responsibility from the start, with a hiring manager who wants to develop you and share what they know. You will learn how investment projects are governed and delivered, build skills across portfolio management, project controls and data visualisation, and get a close view of how a production site works. Your voice will be heard, and your ideas for improving how the PMO works will be welcome.

Expect clear performance expectations, honest feedback and colleagues who share knowledge and help each other grow.

Salary : For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 570,200 to 838,100 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

Incentives and Benefits : The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
