As an intern in Sustainability Data Solutions & AI, you will turn sustainability data into insight Novo can act on. You will develop a data analytics use case that combines energy and water data from source systems with global sustainability data, and help make that data cleaner, more reliable and easier to reuse. Working on real business challenges alongside experienced data analysts and engineers, you will see your work support decisions across the organisation.

What you’ll bring

You are curious, analytical and motivated by using data and technology to solve sustainability challenges. You are a student, and you bring:

A basic understanding of sustainability, environmental data or ESG topics, for example energy, water or greenhouse gas emissions.

Experience with Power BI or another data visualisation or BI tool.

Experience with at least one coding language, such as Python.

An interest in AI, automation and advanced analytics, and in how they can be applied to sustainability challenges.

A structured way of working with a clear eye for detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting those around you.

The ability to explain data clearly to colleagues with less technical insight, with strong written and spoken English.

Familiarity with data engineering, data pipelines or cloud-based analytics platforms, such as Databricks.

Knowledge of statistical modelling, operational research or operations management.

Experience with larger datasets, including data cleaning, transformation, validation or analysis.

What you’ll do

You will contribute to real projects, taking ownership of selected tasks while supporting the wider team’s initiatives. Your work will help strengthen how sustainability data is collected, integrated, analysed and used across Novo.

Develop a data analytics use case that combines energy and water data from source systems with global sustainability data, turning operational data into actionable business insight.

Support the integration and automation of sustainability data in the Sustainability Data Foundation, including data pipelines and automated recurring reporting and data-quality controls in Databricks.

Improve the quality, transparency and availability of sustainability data by creating clean, reliable and reusable datasets in line with the FAIR principles: Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable.

Support the digitalisation of sustainability data and analytics by connecting sustainability information with relevant business and operational metrics.

Contribute to BI solutions for reporting, forecasting and decision-making, as well as ad hoc analyses across sustainability data and technology.

Who you’ll work with

You will join the Sustainability Data Solutions & AI team, part of the Sustainability Strategy and Insights department. The team of data analysts and data engineers drives data analytics on the sustainability agenda for Novo. The department has eight colleagues at headquarters, two in Poland and two in Bangalore, India, so you will work with colleagues across locations.

You will also work closely with stakeholders across Novo who are helping to implement the sustainability strategy across the value chain. Your manager will be [insert hiring manager name]. You will move work forward by bringing technical depth and clear communication together, from deep dives into the data to conversations with colleagues who are less familiar with it.

If allowed by your educational institution, the internship is paid at a fixed monthly base rate of DKK 15,900, plus a pension scheme (currently 10% employer contribution and 5% employee contribution).
