Head of Bulle Supply Chain
Make your mark for patients
We are looking for a Head of Site Supply Chain Operations who is visionary, decisive, and collaborative to join our Internal Manufacturing Supply Chain – Supply Sites team, based at our UCB campus located in Bulle, Switzerland.
About the role:
You will lead Site Supply Chain Operations and secure a reliable, compliant, and cost-effective supply of products from the Bulle site. You will oversee supply planning, detailed scheduling, execution, capacity management, warehousing, and logistics while ensuring operational performance and business continuity.
As a key contributor to our end-to-end supply chain planning HUB, you will connect manufacturing realities with global supply priorities, drive site-level supply decisions, and strengthen operational efficiency. You will also shape the future of site supply chain operations by leveraging trusted data, advanced planning systems, automation, GenAI, and emerging AI-enabled technologies to modernize decision-making and ways of working.
Who you will work with:
You will lead and develop the Site Supply Chain Operations organization while contributing to the Internal Manufacturing Supply Chain Leadership Team. You will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Engineering, Global Planning, Procurement, and the Center of Expertise.
Together, you will translate supply priorities into executable site plans, resolve operational constraints, strengthen capacity and network decisions, and drive transformation initiatives that enhance supply reliability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
What you will do:
- You will own site supply planning, detailed scheduling, execution, exception management, capacity management, and supply performance, balancing demand, inventory, capacity, and service requirements.
- You will act as a key contributor to the end-to-end supply chain planning HUB, translating global supply priorities and manufacturing constraints into feasible site plans while ensuring effective MPS/MRP feedback loops with Global Planning.
- You will hold decision authority for site-level supply topics, including daily operations and SIOP, ensuring alignment between operational execution, business priorities, and patient-supply commitments.
- You will drive supply performance through OTIF monitoring, KPI management, root-cause analysis, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- You will ensure the effective use of advanced planning systems, including OMP Detailed Scheduling and SAP S/4HANA, while strengthening planning master-data quality, system reliability, and process efficiency.
- You will oversee site warehousing, logistics, distribution, inventory accuracy, storage capacity, and product flows, ensuring efficient and compliant operations.
- You will ensure compliance with UCB Quality, GxP/GDP, HSE, and data-integrity requirements, maintaining operational and inspection readiness.
- You will lead capacity discussions across manufacturing technology platforms, supporting scenario planning, operational resilience, and strategic supply network decisions.
- You will coordinate and prioritize site-impacting supply chain projects, including capacity expansions, network changes, new business activities, product launches, and transfers.
- You will define and drive the future vision of site supply chain operations, contributing to digital transformation through trusted data, robust data governance, automation, GenAI, and agentic AI solutions, while ensuring their responsible adoption.
- You will build, coach, and develop a high-performing organization, fostering accountability, collaboration, succession readiness, continuous improvement, and digital upskilling.
Interested? For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills:
- You hold a Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field. APICS CPIM/CSCP certification or equivalent is an asset.
- You bring at least 10 years’ experience within the pharmaceutical or life-science industry, preferably in Supply Chain, Planning, or Technical Operations.
- You have proven people-leadership experience within complex, multi-site, and highly regulated manufacturing environments, with the ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
- You demonstrate strong expertise in supply planning, detailed scheduling, capacity management (RCP), MRP, IBP/SIOP, S&OE, and operational execution within GxP manufacturing environments.
- You are comfortable working with advanced planning systems, particularly OMP Detailed Scheduling and SAP S/4HANA, and understand planning master-data governance, analytics, and process automation.
- You have a solid understanding of warehousing, logistics, distribution, inventory management, and associated GxP/GDP compliance requirements.
- You understand the potential of GenAI and agentic AI, with the ability to identify valuable use cases, evaluate AI-supported outputs, and drive responsible technology adoption.
- You bring strong financial and business acumen, understanding the drivers of Opex, Capex, inventory, and COGS while balancing operational performance, service, compliance, and cost efficiency.
- You can lead complex transformation initiatives, influence senior stakeholders, manage change, navigate ambiguity, and make sound, data-driven decisions under pressure.
- You demonstrate strong communication, resilience, and a collaborative, patient-first mindset, with a commitment to Quality, HSE, Operational Excellence, and sustainable ways of working.
