We are looking for an analytical, business savvy, collaborative and curious R&D Financial Analytics and Forecasting Lead to join our Patient Solutions & Patient Evidence team , based at our Global Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium .

About the role

In this global role, you will play a key part in shaping the future outlook of UCB's development portfolio. By combining financial analytics, forecasting, valuation and strategic planning, you will translate scientific and business insights into meaningful financial perspectives that support investment decisions and portfolio prioritization. Working across functions and geographies, you will contribute to long-term planning, business case assessments and portfolio strategy, helping UCB create sustainable value for patients through innovation and scientific excellence.

Who you will work with

You will collaborate closely with colleagues across Patient Solutions, Patient Evidence, Portfolio Management, Project Management, Corporate Strategy and Finance. The role offers broad exposure to development teams, strategic planning activities, governance forums and senior decision-makers across the organization. Success in this position comes from building trusted partnerships, fostering alignment across diverse stakeholder groups and creating an environment where different perspectives contribute to stronger decisions and better outcomes.

What you will do

  • Deliver financial analytics and portfolio insights that support strategic decisions across development programs.

  • Evaluate development investments through business case assessments, valuation analyses and scenario modelling.

  • Shape long-term portfolio perspectives by balancing strategic priorities, affordability and value creation.

  • Partner with development teams to build robust forecasts and strengthen key planning assumptions.

  • Coordinate portfolio forecasting activities and promote consistency of methodologies and assumptions.

  • Facilitate the Asset Assumption Review cycle supporting strategic planning and governance discussions.

  • Assess portfolio risks, opportunities and alternative scenarios influencing future performance.

  • Foster alignment across development, finance and portfolio stakeholders globally.

Interested ?

For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance , Economics, Business Administration, Life Sciences or a related discipline.

  • Experience within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.

  • Proven experience in portfolio finance, strategic planning, business development, investment evaluation or portfolio management.

  • Experience supporting research and development portfolios, investment decisions and long-range planning activities.

  • Strong expertise in financial modelling, valuation methodologies, forecasting and business case development.

  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical research and development value chain and its key value drivers.

  • Ability to translate scientific, strategic and commercial considerations into meaningful financial insights and recommendations.

  • Proven success influencing senior stakeholders across complex, global and cross-functional environments while fostering collaboration and alignment.
