Industrial Cyber Security Expert

Braine-l'Alleud, Belgium

Make your mark for patients

We are looking for an Industrial Cyber Security Expert who is pragmatic, collaborative and delivery-oriented to join our Industrial Cyber Security team, based in our office in Braine l’Alleud, Belgium.

About the role:

Manufacturing environments are increasingly connected, automated and exposed to cyber threats. At UCB, industrial cyber security protects manufacturing operations, product quality, patient safety and continuity of supply.

As Industrial Manufacturing Cyber Security Expert, you will secure critical manufacturing and automation environments across UCB’s global network. You will work across existing facilities, industrial networks, connected equipment, automation platforms, and edge solutions.

This is a hands-on expert role. You will assess risk, challenge weak designs, define practical security requirements, drive remediation and document residual risk. Controls must be proportionate and must not compromise safety, quality or operational availability.

Who you'll work with:

You will be working in the industrial cyber security team of UCB, focussing on safeguarding our manufacturing environments from cyber security threats globally. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, automation, quality, digital technology, site teams and external vendors to support secure and reliable operations while maintaining safety, quality and business continuity.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and coordinate OT cyber risk assessments for manufacturing systems, architectures, equipment, projects and sites
  • Define, review and verify security requirements across the full lifecycle: concept, design, commissioning, operation, change and decommissioning
  • Review industrial architectures and controls, including network segmentation, zones and conduits, identity and privileged access, secure remote access, hardening, vulnerability management, backup and recovery, logging, monitoring and firewall rules
  • Support capital projects, automation initiatives, connected equipment, industrial IoT, and industrial edge and cloud solutions with secure-by-design requirements
  • Manage security exceptions, including review, approval recommendations, follow-up, expiry and residual-risk documentation
  • Drive remediation with system owners, site teams, engineering partners and suppliers. Escalate material risk when it is not addressed
  • Assess third-party and supply-chain cyber risk and challenge vendor designs, proposals and evidence
  • Monitor the industrial threat and regulatory landscape and turn relevant developments into proportionate action
  • Improve execution through standardization, automation, stronger evidence and measurable control effectiveness
  • Build practical cyber security capability through guidance, coaching and knowledge sharing
