Senior Legal Specialist

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a thriving bio-pharmaceutical company working across a broad spectrum of the company, providing multifaceted operational, commercial, and health compliance legal advice.

The Senior Legal Specialist will be a member of the Legal and Compliance department. This position will collaborate with the members of the European, APAC and New Markets Legal team and work closely with business partners throughout the company to help BeOne more effectively negotiate and manage contracts, develop all kind of types of legal documents, as help BeOne business to navigate the complex world of law and regulations applicable to BeOne’s operations.

Essential Functions of the job :

  • Drafting reviewing, and negotiating agreements exercising sound judgment and minimal supervision;

  • Collaboration with attorneys on creating/modifying contracts templates for self-service contracting.

  • Maintaining updated contracts templates with current regulations and company policies and procedures. Help ensure the contract repository is accurate and up to date.

  • Identify legal and contractual risks and escalate matters in accordance with BeOne protocols and guidance.

  • Provide practical, solution-oriented legal support to BeOne internal clients during contract preparation and negotiation;

  • Review third party contract terms and conditions to verify that they are in compliance with applicable regulations and BeOne corporate requirements.

  • Drafting/reviewing Letters of Authorization, Power of Attorney and assisting the business colleagues with related formalities (e.g. legalization/notarization); including independently managing related formalities and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as required.

  • Provide support to Corporate Secretariat including in the administration of BeOne entity management system. Collect and update databases for tracking and corporate entity formation.

  • Maintenance of the Intranet page of Legal & Compliance team in Europe, APAC and New Markets ensuring that updated contracts templates, playbooks, guidance and training documents are available to the business in a timely manner and in a user-friendly fashion;

  • Providing training to business colleagues on contracts and other legal documentation and processes.

  • Coordinating legal operational activities with other legal professionals, promoting alignment, knowledge sharing, and consistency of approach

  • Acting as a point of reference and providing guidance and informal mentoring to less experienced team members, if any, without direct managerial responsibility.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned, including administrative support of the team if necessary.

  • Paralegal qualification will be appreciated and reflected in the Job Title

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have managerial responsibility or budgetary discretion.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, CTMS and CMS/similar system

Other Qualifications:

  • 6 + years of experience in the handling of contracts, preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry with demonstrated ability to work autonomously and coordinate legal activities.

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work across time zones.

  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical and other relevant laws and regulations and ability to interpret and apply such laws and regulations and policies to inform business activities preferred.

  • A demonstrated ability to collaborate, as well as to work independently, balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a high level of professionalism.

  • Highly effective communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Experience advising on statutes, regulations, guidance documents, and ethical standards governing the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Detail-oriented.

  • Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information using discretion and judgment.

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and be reliable and responsive.

  • Ability to be flexible and willing to accept new responsibilities as needed.

  • Fluency in English is required.

Travel: Up to 10%

Salary Range Switzerland: 104,900.00 CHF - 131,100.00 CHF
