The Role

As Associate Director, Marketing Oncology, you will develop and deliver brand strategies that turn customer and market insights into effective commercial activities. Working closely with cross-functional colleagues and field teams, you will drive launch readiness, lifecycle management and customer engagement, with a strong focus on patients, customers and business impact.


This role is based in Munich.

Responsibilities

  • Develop brand strategies and plans: Lead integrated brand strategies, annual operating plans and tactical plans, including customer segmentation, targeting, positioning and value propositions.
  • Turn insights into action: Generate and apply customer, competitor and market insights to guide strategic decisions.
  • Drive launches and lifecycle management: Lead launch readiness and lifecycle initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver business priorities.
  • Strengthen customer engagement: Develop and execute omnichannel engagement strategies and work closely with field teams to align customer-facing activities with brand objectives.
  • Manage partnerships and investments: Lead agency partnerships and use data to optimize marketing investments.
  • Measure business impact: Establish meaningful performance indicators and track results to inform decisions and improvements.

Requirements

Essential qualifications and experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Business or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience, with proven experience in marketing, brand management, commercial excellence or related strategic roles.
  • Previous success in a customer-facing commercial role, such as Sales Representative, Key Account Manager, Sales Manager or an equivalent field-based position.
  • Experience working cross-functionally within a matrix organisation.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, combined with a hands-on approach and a start-up mindset.

Preferred qualifications and skills

  • 5–8+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience, including 3–5+ years in marketing, brand management or strategic commercial leadership.
  • Oncology experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in product launch planning and execution.
  • A strong understanding of customer engagement, omnichannel marketing and market dynamics.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and lead without formal authority.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in German and English.

The proposed gross annual base salary range for this position, in the primary location, based on a full time schedule is:

EUR88.000,00---132.000,00

The final salary offer will depend on several factors, including your skills, qualifications, and experience.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
