As our new Senior Director, you will set the global procurement direction for the services and technologies that enable Novo to operate, innovate and grow. You will lead one of our three global category clusters called Corporate Services. The cluster covers Professional Services, External Workforce and Digital Solutions with approximately DKK 20 billion in annual spend.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Procurement (reporting to CFO), you will join Corporate Procurement Management and lead the Corporate Services cluster through three experienced team leaders (two Directors and one Associate Director) and their 23-person teams in Denmark, who drive category management and strategic sourcing. You will work closely with our Category Management Support function and our Global Business Services teams in Bangalore (India), which manage tactical sourcing.

• Lead through others: Set direction, empower your leaders and build a culture of accountability, honest feedback, development and constructive challenge.
• Drive global category excellence: Set the cluster’s strategic direction, connect business priorities with market opportunities and enable ambitious category strategies that deliver measurable value.
• Unlock cross-category opportunities: Find synergies across the three categories and challenge how we access expertise, deploy technology and partner externally to strengthen competitiveness, flexibility and innovation.
• Shape demand and business opportunities: Anticipate evolving needs, challenge established commercial and delivery models, and build the senior partnerships and sponsorship to turn opportunities into results.
• Advance AI-enabled category excellence: Use technology, data and AI to deepen market intelligence, accelerate decisions, automate lower-value work and raise the impact of category management.
• Strengthen strategic supplier ecosystems: Build partnerships that bring innovation and critical capabilities while improving commercial value, performance, sustainability and resilience.

Who you’ll work with

Corporate Procurement is a global strategic function with an ambitious cost, innovation and value agenda. We manage Novo’s indirect spend, supplier base and global Source-to-Pay processes and systems, with teams in Bagsværd, Bangalore and Boston and category and sourcing managers across the globe.

We bridge business priorities with market opportunities and supplier capabilities, using market intelligence, AI and automation to move faster, decide better and deliver greater enterprise value.

You will partner with colleagues across Corporate Procurement and senior stakeholders Enterprise IT, People & Organisation, Legal, Finance and other business areas, as well as regional procurement colleagues and senior executives at strategic suppliers.

As part of Corporate Procurement Management, you will also help shape the wider procurement agenda, build and grow the future leadership of the organisation, strengthen cross-category collaboration and build a more intelligent, agile and high-performing organisation.

What you’ll bring

You are an accomplished procurement and people leader with deep domain expertise, strategic perspective and strong business partnering skills. Above all, you succeed through others: setting clear direction and enabling experienced leaders and experts to make sound decisions, grow and deliver together.

You have a clear view of how procurement creates enterprise value and use market insight, supplier capabilities and internal expertise to shape opportunities with the business.

To succeed, you will bring:

• Solid experience in category management and global strategic procurement.
• A strong record as a leader of leaders, delivering results, developing experienced category leaders and experts, and driving high engagement organisations.
• Deep category expertise across complex indirect spend, with strong credibility in at least one of Professional Services, External Workforce or Digital/IT and sound understanding of the others.

• Proven ability to partner with and constructively challenge senior executives, aligning a global matrix organisation around shared outcomes.
• Experience leading complex negotiations, strategic supplier relationships and transformation, balancing value, quality, innovation, agility and risk.
• Experience leveraging shared services and specialist capabilities in global procurement operating models to maximise strategic capacity and performance.
• Strong analytical judgement and financial acumen, with an understanding of how AI, automation and advanced analytics improve procurement intelligence, productivity and decisions.
