Senior Finance Partner

Kalundborg, Denmark

Finance Partner / Senior Finance Partner
API Business & Investment Finance – API Manufacturing
Kalundborg and Taastrup, Denmark

Are you an experienced finance professional who enjoys working close to the business, taking ownership of financial processes and turning numbers into meaningful business insights? Would you like a role where you can combine hands-on budgeting and financial controlling with exposure to senior stakeholders and some of Novo’s key manufacturing activities?

We are looking for a Finance Partner / Senior Finance Partner to join API Business & Investment Finance. You will take financial ownership of a new important operational area within API while also contributing to finance activities across the broader API SVP area.

Depending on your experience and profile, the position may be offered at Finance Partner or Senior Finance Partner level.

The position

As our new team member, you will become the primary finance partner for the organisation responsible for shared infrastructure across our Kalundborg manufacturing site.

You will take ownership of the budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial controlling processes for this area, working closely with stakeholders to understand the business behind the numbers and provide the financial insight needed to support sound decision making.

This is a role with a high degree of independence and stakeholder exposure. You will prepare and present financial material to senior stakeholders, including supporting financial discussions with the Board of Directors of the landowners association responsible for all shared infrastructure in our Kalundborg manufacturing site.

We are therefore looking for someone who is comfortable not only producing high quality financial analysis, but also explaining, challenging and discussing it confidently with the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial controlling activities for your primary business area
  • Partnering closely with operational stakeholders to understand cost drivers, business requirements and future financial needs
  • Supporting both OPEX and CAPEX planning, including the investment outlook for infrastructure in Kalundborg
  • Preparing and presenting budgets and financial material to senior stakeholders and supporting Board-level financial discussions
  • Identifying opportunities to strengthen, simplify and improve existing finance processes
  • Contributing to broader API Business & Investment Finance deliverables, including budgeting, consolidated financial material and other cross-team priorities

The role requires a regular presence in Kalundborg, typically 2–3 days per week, with the remaining working days primarily based in Taastrup. Flexibility will be required depending on business and stakeholder needs.

Your new department

You will join API Business & Investment Finance, a team covering financial planning, budgeting and finance partnering for investment projects and operating factories across API.

We drive business insights and support senior management in financial processes and strategic resource allocation. API is the area in Novo producing the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients for our patients worldwide.

In the team, we enjoy maintaining a humorous and ambitious environment, to which we all contribute. We are good at helping each other with complicated challenges and celebrating each other's victories. We look forward to welcoming you to the team and sharing our knowledge and experience.

Your skills and qualifications
To succeed in this role, you have a relevant academic background within Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field, combined with practical finance experience.

More importantly, you have hands on experience with budgeting and are comfortable taking independent ownership of a financial process rather than simply contributing to one.

Additionally, we are looking for someone who:

  • Has practical experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning or controlling, ideally within a line-of-business, operational or business-partnering environment
  • Is comfortable preparing and presenting financial information to senior stakeholders
  • Can explain complex financial information clearly and confidently and constructively challenge when required
  • Brings a collaborative mindset and is comfortable contributing beyond their immediate area of responsibility

For candidates considered at Senior Finance Partner level, we will particularly look for evidence of independently managing complex finance partnering responsibilities, confidently influencing senior stakeholders and bringing a broader strategic perspective to financial decision making.
