We are looking for 3 Analytical Scientists who are curious, collaborative, and scientifically driven to join our Analytical Development Sciences (ADS) Physico-Chemical Analytics (PCA) team, based at our UCB campus located in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.

About the role

As an Analytical Scientist, you will play a key role in supporting development programs from early clinical phases through commercial registration and lifecycle management. You will develop and validate analytical methods, generate scientific insights, and contribute to the continuous evolution and digitalization of analytical processes. Your expertise will help ensure the quality, robustness, and success of our pharmaceutical portfolio.

Who you will work with

You will join the Analytical Development Sciences (ADS) department within the Physico-Chemical Analytics (PCA) group. You will collaborate closely with analytical scientists, laboratory analysts, process development teams, quality control laboratories, external partners, and project stakeholders across multiple development programs. You will also contribute to knowledge sharing and scientific coaching within the team.

What you will do

  • You will develop and validate analytical methods supporting pharmaceutical products throughout development phases.
  • You will perform analytical testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
  • You will support stability studies, clinical releases, and process understanding activities.
  • You will analyze data, challenge results, and generate meaningful scientific insights.
  • You will manage analytical documentation, protocols, reports, and GxP-compliant records.
  • You will coach colleagues, support investigations, and contribute to new technology implementation.

Interested?

For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry or related scientific discipline.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Hands-on expertise in analytical method development for chemical and biological products.
  • Strong knowledge of chromatography, electrophoresis, spectrometry, dissolution testing, or related techniques.
  • Understanding of GMP, pharmacopoeias, method validation, transfer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Effective communication skills in French and English, with a collaborative mindset.
