We are looking for a Global Commissioning & Qualification Expert who is collaborative, innovative, and quality-driven to join our Physical Asset Management / Asset Technical Standards & Expertise Team , based at our UCB campus located in Braine-l’Alleud, Walloon Brabant, Belgium .

About the role

As a Global Commissioning & Qualification Expert, you will be the global reference for Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q) activities across UCB’s worldwide network. You will help shape global standards, drive harmonization across sites, and support major CAPEX projects from design through lifecycle management. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with cGMP requirements while advancing innovative, digital, and risk-based qualification approaches that support UCB’s transformation and modernization ambitions.

Who you will work with

You will collaborate closely with Design Engineering Leads, Local Qualification Teams, Global Quality Assurance, Engineering & Sites and Facilities teams, and external industry experts. You will also lead and connect a global network of commissioning and qualification professionals, fostering best practice sharing and driving consistent execution across UCB sites worldwide.

What you will do

  • You will define and maintain global Commissioning & Qualification standards, procedures, templates, and governance.
  • You will support major CAPEX projects with compliant, efficient, and risk-based C&Q strategies.
  • You will work with engineering, quality, and site teams to harmonize qualification methodologies globally.
  • You will lead continuous improvement initiatives and strengthen commissioning integration into qualification activities.
  • You will promote digitalization, paperless validation, smart commissioning, and innovative qualification solutions.
  • You will act as UCB’s global C&Q expert during audits, inspections, risk assessments, and industry forums.

Interested?

For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong expertise in Commissioning & Qualification for facilities, utilities, equipment, and computerized systems.
  • Deep knowledge of cGMP, FDA, EU Annex 15, ICH, ISPE guidance, and ASTM E2500 principles.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical CAPEX project environments.
  • Proven ability to lead global initiatives and influence stakeholders within matrix organizations.
  • Professional proficiency in English; French language skills are considered an advantage.
