Health Economics & Outcomes Research Senior Expert – Rare Disease

We are looking for a Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) Senior Expert who is analytical, strategic, and collaborative to join our Patient Evidence team, supporting evidence generation strategies that enable patient access and reimbursement across global markets. This position can be based in Brussels, Belgium or Slough, UK .

About the Role

As Senior Expert, HEOR, you will play a key role in developing and executing global health economics and outcomes research strategies that support payer, HTA, and reimbursement objectives throughout the product lifecycle.

Acting as a core member of the global payer sub-team, you will ensure that evidence generation activities reflect the needs of HTA bodies, payers, and healthcare decision-makers. You will help identify evidence gaps, shape evidence generation plans, and contribute to the development of compelling value stories that demonstrate the clinical and economic value of UCB's therapies.

This role offers a unique opportunity to influence development programs from early stages through commercialization, helping ensure that innovative therapies achieve successful patient access around the world.

Who You’ll Work With

You will work closely with colleagues across Health Economics & Outcomes Research, Market Access, Patient Evidence, Real World Evidence, Patient-Centered Outcomes Research, Biostatistics, Clinical Development, and Medical Affairs. You will also collaborate with affiliate teams, external experts, and research partners to generate evidence that supports access and reimbursement decisions globally.

What You’ll Do

• Support the development and execution of global HEOR and payer evidence strategies aligned with asset and market access objectives.
• Design and deliver HEOR studies and deliverables, including cost-effectiveness models, budget impact models, systematic literature reviews, indirect treatment comparisons, HCRU studies, and HRQoL research.
• Develop asset value assessments and economic value frameworks to support pricing, reimbursement, and access decisions.
• Shape and communicate compelling economic value stories for assigned assets and indications.
• Influence clinical development programs to ensure evidence generation plans address HTA and payer requirements, including evolving EU HTA needs.
• Contribute to global value dossiers and support affiliates in the development of robust market access and reimbursement strategies.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver evidence generation initiatives such as patient preference studies, natural history studies, and other outcomes research programs.
• Provide HEOR expertise and guidance throughout the product lifecycle, helping translate evidence into successful access outcomes.
• Contribute to scientific publications, congress presentations, abstracts, posters, and external scientific engagement activities.
• Support innovation and continuous improvement by sharing best practices, methodologies, and emerging approaches across the HEOR community.

Interested? For this role we’re looking for:

• Master's degree or PhD in Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Market Access, Public Health, Epidemiology, Pharmacy, or a related discipline.
• Strong experience within HEOR, Market Access, Outcomes Research, or Health Economics in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or consulting sectors.
• Expertise in health economic modelling, cost-effectiveness analyses, budget impact modelling, and outcomes research methodologies.
• Experience supporting HTA submissions, reimbursement processes, and payer evidence requirements across multiple markets.
• Rare Disease experience is highly desirable.
• Experience working across regions or at a global/intercontinental level, with a strong understanding of diverse healthcare systems and payer environments.
