Your mission

Your mission
Pierre Fabre Pharma is seeking an experienced Head of Translational Dermatology to drive scientific strategy and excellence across innovative dermatology drug discovery and development programs. You will play a central role in shaping early‑stage research, guiding translational approaches, and supporting the progression of novel therapeutic candidates toward early clinical development.
As dermatology is a strategic priority for the Pierre Fabre Group, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing pipeline supported by both internal innovation and external partnerships.

The position is based in Toulouse, France, with flexibility in terms of commuting from France/Europe and partial remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drives the Dermatology R&D portfolio from discovery through early clinical development, aligned with the overall R&D strategy.
  • Reports to Head Translational Research
  • Leads dermatology clinical development programs, advancing and expanding the portfolio from First-in-Human through Phase II.
  • Oversees the design, execution, and evaluation of dermatology clinical trials by leading cross-functional teams and bringing together the required expertise.
  • Assesses external opportunities, including assets, partnerships, and technologies, to support BD&L decisions.
  • May manage, coach, and develop Dermatology Project Leaders while helping build a strong dermatology R&D community.
  • Promotes strong alignment across discovery, translational research, and clinical development to enable biomarker-driven, mechanism-based plans.
  • Works collaboratively across the matrix and with external partners to secure the right expertise efficiently.
  • Produces high-quality deliverables that support data-driven decisions and effective prioritization of projects and resources in line with R&D strategy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • MD or MD/PhD with deep expertise in Dermatology and Immunology and at least 10 years of drug development experience in pharma or biotech.
  • Strong record of scientific excellence and successful drug development, with demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience developing targeted therapies in immuno-dermatology, with strong understanding of the translational components needed for trial execution.
  • Solid knowledge of regulatory requirements across development phases and regions to support global development and registration.
  • Collaborative, open-minded, entrepreneurial, agile, and pragmatic, with the ability to deliver in a competitive environment.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop people effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead immune‑dermatology programs within a matrixed, cross‑functional organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team‑building skills fostering collaborative and inclusive scientific environments.

  • Capacity to set ambitious goals, prioritize effectively, and drive high‑quality outcomes.
  • Active engagement with scientific and clinical advancements to maintain alignment with industry best practices and precision medicine trends.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
