Functional Units Controller (m/f/x)

The Position:

We are looking for a forward-thinking and results-oriented Finance Business Partner with extensive experience and advanced financial analytics & planning capabilities.

In this exciting role, you will report to the Head of Business Partnering Corporate Functions / Functional Units and will work closely with different Finance teams and business functions across the European organization as well as with key stakeholders in Canada, Japan and in the US.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a business advisor and sparring partner on all financial aspects for Daiichi Sankyo Functional Units including Research & Development, Regulatory Affairs and Supply Chain

  • Earn trust of your business partners to influence and support tactical and strategic business decisions driving business improvements and cost efficiency

  • Identify risks, evaluate impact, pro-actively propose changes and implement improvements to remediate gaps and enhance processes

  • Understand the details of the cost structure to make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where data may be difficult to procure

  • Oversee the Financial and operational planning processes to produce a challenging yet solid operational plan for Functional Units in Europe and Canada

  • You will be involved in setting up, expanding and maintaining reporting structures, including the definition of KPIs and controlling standards in accordance with current requirements, and financial requirements of business plans

  • Coordination of mid-term planning (3 to 5 years) for Functional Units in Europe and Canada

  • Carry out annual budget planning and quarterly forecasts including related reporting tasks

  • Define and cascade planning targets

  • Drive and perform quarterly business reviews as a part of the regular planning cycles

  • Manage and perform regional and global cost cross-charging processes in collaboration with Finance teams in Europe, Canada and Japan

  • Representation of the Europe and Canada based Functional Units towards the global stakeholders in planning and reporting cycles

  • Continuously challenge and optimize existing processes and tools and contribute to design discussions for reporting standards, processes and templates

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address findings

Professional Experience and Personal Skills:

  • Degree in business administration or a related degree with a focus on Finance and / or Controlling

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in in Controlling or Financial Planning & Analysis ideally with experience in R&D and Supply Chain as well as in global interaction

  • Result oriented with a strong affinity for numbers in financial context that enables you to quickly think your way through complex tasks

  • Teamwork, goal awareness and high-quality standards

  • Must be a self-starter with an attention to detail

  • Understanding of data best practices

  • Fluency in English
