Job Description

The R&D Scientific Safety Engineer will serve as the single point of contact (SPOC), fully responsible for ensuring the implementation, completeness, and accuracy of laboratory equipment calibrations, maintenance, and legal inspections. This role involves creating and maintaining a comprehensive list of existing lab equipment to ensure data accuracy and completeness for internal and external audits and inspections. Additionally, the engineer will coordinate service contracts, liaise with external service providers, and regularly report process status to business partners and management.

This role is pivotal in ensuring that all laboratory equipment operates at peak efficiency and complies with legal standards under German law. Additionally, it involves maintaining adherence to GMP and GLP requirements, ultimately facilitating the seamless operation of laboratory activities and guaranteeing a safe working environment.

Make your mark :

  • Full project responsibility and SPOC to ensure all relevant regulatory requirements, legal standards (German law), compliance in a GMP and GLP environment, user requirements, occupational safety regulations and EHS guidelines (Compliance, Environmental, Health, Safety, Quality Assurance) to guarantee safe and compliance working environment for all business partners.
  • Responsibility to ensure compliance of external business partners.
  • Close cooperation with all relevant stakeholders (business partners, quality assurance, controlling and purchasing).
  • Create and maintain a thorough R&D Laboratory Equipment list and ensure completeness and accuracy of data for internal and external audits and inspections.
  • Responsible for coordination of service contracts for Calibration, Maintenance, and Legal Inspection of Laboratory Equipment in close collaboration with business partners and purchasing.
  • Regular reporting of project progress and status to business partners, management levels and R&D General Manager, also in English.
  • Proactive participation in our continuous improvement process to constantly increase the efficiency of our processes.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent technical education or scientific background with technical experiences and mindset
  • 5+ years related working experience
  • Experience in coordinating maintenance and calibration services, preferably in a laboratory setting desirable with GLP and GXP knowledge
  • A tech-savvy mindset as well as knowledge in project and document management
  • Excellent organizational, networking and communication skills with a strong sense of personal integrity
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and conduct effective meetings
  • Familiarity with legal standards and regulations regarding equipment maintenance and inspection as well as audit and inspection experiences
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for documentation and reporting (Maximo system knowledge preferred)
  • Strong language proficiency in English and German, written and oral
