Analytical Scientist (all genders)

Become part of Bayer’s Quality Assurance Team and contribute to the development and quality assurance of innovative pharmaceutical products. In this role, you will provide scientific expertise, lead critical quality control activities, and collaborate with global stakeholders across the product lifecycle. Your work will directly support compliance, innovation, and operational excellence.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will provide functional leadership for analytical chemistry activities and oversee routine as well as non-routine testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished pharmaceutical products
  • You will perform and supervise chromatographic and spectroscopic analyses to ensure high-quality analytical results and regulatory compliance
  • You will develop, validate, transfer, and optimize analytical methods for the characterization and quantification of pharmaceutical compounds
  • You will analyze, interpret, and communicate complex analytical data through clear technical reports, scientific documentation, and presentations
  • You will ensure the qualification, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of analytical methods, laboratory equipment, and workflows
  • You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Formulation Development, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Regulatory Affairs, to support product development and commercial operations
  • You will act as Head of Quality Control in accordance with German pharmaceutical regulations, including AMG (German Medicines Act) and AMWHV (German Ordinance on the Manufacture of Medicinal Products and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) requirements
  • You will ensure that all quality control activities, testing procedures, and laboratory operations comply with applicable GMP, legal, and regulatory standards
  • You will support regulatory submissions and interactions with health authorities by providing analytical expertise, scientific assessments, and compliant documentation
  • You will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance analytical capabilities, quality standards, operational excellence, and regulatory readiness
  • You will represent the Analytical Chemistry function in internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance-related activities
  • You will contribute to strategic decision-making by providing scientific expertise and guidance on analytical and quality-related topics

WHO YOU ARE

  • You hold a Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Food Chemistry, or a related scientific field
  • You bring hands-on expertise in chromatographic and spectroscopic analytical techniques, including HPLC, GC, IR, NIR, and Raman spectroscopy
  • You apply a strong understanding of GMP requirements, pharmaceutical quality standards, and regulatory guidelines such as FDA and ICH
  • You solve complex analytical challenges through a structured, data-driven, and detail-oriented approach
  • You communicate scientific findings clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • You collaborate across functions and contribute to a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • You preferably bring experience in developing, validating, and optimizing analytical methods for complex pharmaceutical formulations
  • You preferably have knowledge of statistical analysis methods and data analysis software to support scientific evaluation and decision-making
  • You are fluent in German and have good English skills

This is a fixed-term position for 24 months.
