Internship - Development of web applications for process engineering bioreactor database (f/d/m)

YOUR TASKS AND OBJECTIVES
In this internship, you will contribute directly to digitalization in the field of biotechnological process development for applications in cell and gene therapy (CGT) at Bayer Pharmaceuticals. As part of an interdisciplinary project team in the “Process Technologies” cluster, you will work on the following topics:
- Development of a cloud-based bioreactor database incl. web application for data analysis
- Wrangling and migration of existing data sets and ensuring data quality
- Overseeing the app launch by communicating with users and providing support
- Independent planning, implementation, and presentation of your work
- Depending on expertise, this can be complemented by the following topics:
- Experimental (laboratory) or numerical (CFD) hydro-dynamic characterization of bioreactors (power input, mixing time, kLa, etc.)
- Extension of a CAD database for general stirred tank reactors
WHO YOU ARE
In addition to skills such as teamwork, flexibility, initiative, and quality awareness, you identify with the following description:
- You are an enrolled student in an applied computer science, or an engineering or natural sciences degree
- You have practical experience with relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL) and web application development (Django, Python, Dash/Plotly, Git/GitHub)
- You (ideally) have basic knowledge in the field of bioprocess engineering, laboratory work, or fluid dynamics simulation (CFD)
- Very good german and english skills complete your profile
