Principal Scientist Oral Solids (all genders)

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You are responsible for the formulation and process development of solid oral dosage forms for new active pharmaceutical ingredients, as well as the lifecycle management of marketed products in line with the latest scientific and technological standards
  • You manage technology transfer activities for new pharmaceutical products, including scale-up and validation, as well as for existing marketed products on both national and international levels
  • You prepare regulatory documentation, including product development reports, global registration documents, and patent applications to protect and secure company know-how
  • You provide scientific leadership to a pharmaceutical technology laboratory team. You allocate work, conduct feedback discussions, and ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements
  • You proactively lead cross-functional projects related to the development and optimization of new and existing pharmaceutical products. In addition, you drive troubleshooting activities and the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for solid dosage forms
  • You represent CMC&T Drug Product as a scientific and technical subject matter expert and serve as the key point of contact for topics related to formulation development, process development, and drug product manufacturing
  • You onboard and mentor new scientists and initiate as well as supervise scientific collaborations, including partnerships with Master's and PhD students

WHO YOU ARE

  • You hold a university degree with a PhD or an equivalent qualification in Pharmacy (preferably Pharmaceutical Technology), Engineering, or a related scientific discipline
  • You bring several years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in formulation development and/or Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) for solid dosage forms. Experience with continuous manufacturing processes and Process Analytical Technology (PAT) is highly desirable
  • You have several years of experience leading and mentoring technical staff, as well as supervising Master's and PhD students
  • You are skilled at building trusted relationships and effectively communicating and aligning complex scientific topics with stakeholders across a global and cross-functional environment
  • You demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and have a proven ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing teams
  • You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and German
