Process Expert / Manager Financial Accounting

The Position 

Ready to shape the future of global Financial Accounting processes? 

Join our international Global Business Services (GBS) Process Management Financial Accounting team and take an active role in designing, optimizing, and deploying global end-to-end Financial Accounting processes. As Process Expert / Process Manager, you will drive harmonization, standardization, and continuous improvement across core AccountingtoReporting (A2R) processes and support global S/4HANA deployments. 

You will work in a dynamic, international environment and collaborate closely with Finance, Controlling, IT, and Shared Service Centers worldwide to ensure efficient, compliant, and future-proof Financial Accounting processes. 

Tasks & responsibilities 

  • You will design, optimize, and continuously improve global Financial Accounting processes, including General Ledger Accounting, Intercompany Accounting, Asset Accounting, and Month-End / Year-End Closing. 
  • Supporting international SAP S/4HANA rollout projects by implementing global template processes in Financial Accounting will also be your responsibility. 
  • You will identify and drive process and system improvements in close alignment with the Global Process Owner A2R. 
  • In addition, you will collaborate closely with global and local Finance, Controlling, IT, and Shared Service Center teams to operationalize corporate guidelines and policies. 
  • Contributing to the adoption of modern technologies (e.g. SAP S/4HANA innovations, automation, AI-based solutions) to increase efficiency, transparency, and data quality will also be one of your tasks. 
  • Finally, you will document global processes and support process governance as well as compliance activities. 

Additional tasks for Process Manager 

  • You will lead international and local project teams throughout the full project lifecycle, including preparation, execution, milestone tracking, and follow-up. 
  • Driving global initiatives end-to-end, ensuring harmonization and sustainable process implementation across countries will be one of your responsibilities. 
  • Moreover, you will facilitate complex workshops and decision forums with senior stakeholders in an international environment. 
  • You will act as a key sparring partner to the Global Process Owner for strategic process development and transformation topics. 
  • Supporting change management activities during global transformation and rollout projects will also be your task. 

Requirements 

  • Master's degree in business administration, finance, business informatics, or a comparable qualification with a strong focus on financial accounting 
  • First years of professional experience in finance (e.g. in general accounting, external group reporting, controlling, auditing, or SAP consulting) as well as in international projects and working in global, cross functional teams 
  • Strong SAP expertise in financial accounting (SAP FI), ideally in S/4HANA 
  • Structured, result-oriented and proactive working style with strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Very good communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities in an international environment 
  • Excellent English skills required; German or additional languages are an advantage 
  • Willingness to undertake occasional international business travel is given 

Additional requirements for Process Manager 

  • Proven track record in leading global or complex international projects, ideally in a Global Business Services (GBS) or consulting environment 
  • Several years of in-depth experience in financial accounting processes and SAP implementations 
  • Strong facilitation skills and the ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes 
  • High degree of ownership, strategic thinking, and decision-making capability
