Process Expert / Process Manager - Operations Planning

The Position

As Process Expert/Process Manager in our Operations Planning team, you take part in transforming Supply Chain Management at Boehringer Ingelheim. You are working in a globally operating team that designs, builds and continuously improves global Supply Chain Processes. The scope for this position focuses on the Production Planning processes within our supply network. These processes are supported by our global SAP systems GBS (SAP ERP) as well as the advanced planning system MWB (ORSOFT Manufacturing Workbench). In addition you will work with our legacy planning tool GRP (SAP APO) as will it’s successors (SAP ePP/DS and SAP IBP.
 
As part of our motivated team, you have the opportunity to drive change within our global supply network.

This position can be filled either as Process Expert or Process Manager.

This position is limited for 2 years.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In close collaboration with our partners in business, GBS and IT, you will ensure implementation and continuous improvement of our standardized processes in global projects.
  • Based on your expertise in SCM and Operations Planning, you will identify improvement opportunities and develop proposals in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • You will manage user communities and spread best practices for example in the training of key users.
  • Acting as third level support, you will encourage our daily operation of processes and applications.
  • Thanks to you, we can be sure that our processes and systems will always be compliant and in a validated state.
  • Furthermore, you will manage the execution and documentation of testing and training activities.

As Process Manager, you additionally take over the following tasks:

  • In strategic projects, you will identify improvement opportunities and develop proposals as well as manage the change together with our stakeholders.
  • You will manage external consultants and ensure their adherence to BI standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor´s or Master´s degree in Business Administration, IT or similar with several years of experience in Supply Chain Management and/or Operations Planning in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Good SAP knowledge, at least SAP ERP PP-PI or SAP SCM PP-DS as well as experience with SAP IBP and other advanced planning systems
  • Project work experiences and / or consulting background preferred
  • Good analytical capabilities and problem-solving competence
  • Agile, accountable and entrepreneurial mindset with a dedicated solution- and result orientation
  • Dedicated team player with a global mindset, can-do attitude, strong collaborative, communication, and presentation skills, and the ability to work independently
  • Fluent in English (additionally fluent in German would be an asset) for an efficient communication with international colleagues

As Process Manager, you additionally need the following requirement:

  • You additionally have experience in managing projects on your own, achieving your goals in time, budget and quality
  • You have a track record of driving cross-functional decisions and building effective relationships and networks
