Team Lead Medical Affairs Pipeline Oncology

The Position

Are you driven by shaping the future of oncology innovation? As Pipeline Lead in Global Medical Affairs Oncology, reporting directly to the Head of Pipeline Medical Affairs, you will play a pivotal role in steering the medical strategy for our prioritized pipeline assets. You will influence evidence generation, guide strategic decision‑making across early and late development, and ensure that our portfolio advances with scientific rigor and global alignment. Your leadership will directly impact portfolio value by integrating deep scientific insight into translational and clinical development plans, ensuring our assets progress with clarity, purpose, and excellence.

Tasks & responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Impact

  • Define and drive global medical strategy for prioritized oncology pipeline assets to enable successful progression, value creation, and evidence‑driven development decisions.
  • Ensure seamless integration of scientific insights into development plans, accelerating data‑driven decisions across early and late stages.
  • Representing Medical Affairs in governance bodies as the key strategic voice for scientific and medical direction, ensuring medical leadership is embedded in all major portfolio inflection points.
  • Drive global readiness for pivotal milestones such as first‑in‑human, PoC, and registration‑enabling studies.

People & Organizational Leadership

  • Build, inspire, and empower a high‑performing team of Medical Leads, cultivating scientific excellence, accountability, and cross‑functional influence across the global oncology organization.
  • Provide strategic direction for the development of impactful medical deliverables, including evidence plans, scientific platforms, and publication strategies, and ensure their successful approval through relevant governance committees.
  • Establish and continuously elevate standards for talent development, communication, cross‑functional interfaces, and operational processes, ensuring clarity, consistency, and high performance.
  • Support the Head of Pipeline Medical Affairs through transparent, documented delegation of responsibilities and represent TA Medicine in internal and external committees as needed.
  • Lead initiatives that impact multiple pipeline assets, serving as the primary global contact for major OPUs and ensuring alignment and influence across the medical ecosystem.

Medical Excellence & External Engagement

  • Leverage extensive clinical and scientific expertise in oncology to guide strategic evidence generation and ensure the highest standards of scientific credibility.
  • Strengthen global engagement with external experts, scientific societies, and key medical stakeholders to support robust scientific exchange and inform asset strategy.
  • Drive high‑priority initiatives in collaboration with global matrix teams, regional medical counterparts, and external partners, ensuring cross‑functional alignment and strategic impact.

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or PhD with extensive clinical and scientific experience in oncology, combined with strong background in Medical Affairs.
  • Expertise in targeted and/or immuno‑oncological therapies.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence across global, regional, and local medical organizations as well as external expert communities.
  • Strong scientific leadership skills with the ability to drive high‑priority projects within global matrix structures and governance forums.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation capabilities, with the ability to influence in a complex, virtual, and global environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, elevate capabilities, and foster a culture of trust, excellence and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills in English paired with cross functional collaboration skills to work in virtual teams and influence in matrix environment
