As a member of the leadership team of ViiV Germany and Switzerland (Hub LT), this role is responsible for defining and driving the strategic direction for the Germany Brand Management team in line with ViiV's global strategy.

Position Summary
The main objective of the role is marketing of ViiV products through design, development, implementation and utilisation of communication channels and content to advertise and promote the organisation’s products using media, events, and sales promotions. The role supports development and evaluation of pricing strategies and negotiations with payers and external stakeholders.

The role is responsible for the development/management of market penetration strategies for the pharmaceutical market and is accountable to cultivate the knowledge of key customers and competitors, to identify brand and portfolio growth opportunities, and to interact closely with sales, medical, digital and other teams in order to ensure cross-functional alignment and execution of Business Marketing plan.


This role is central to the development and implementation of a successful LAI Powerhouse strategy in collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of ViiV's business in Germany and to position ViiV as a leader in long-acting injection solutions.

Strategic leadership

  • Develop and execute integrated brand strategies across the product lifecycle.

  • Align marketing strategies with business objectives and global brand vision.

  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement, introducing emerging technologies and agile practices

Ownership of brand performance

  • Lead of the Asset Team with the holistic approach of a "managing director of your own brand" in cooperation with various matrix (functional) interfaces within the company, in particular above country operations and marketing, GCS and associated teams.

  • Accountable to lead on market competitiveness agenda, including digital and virtual ways of working (omnichannel marketing, etc.).

Accountability for portfolio performance

  • Leads on development and monitoring of metrics/KPIs, ongoing asset/portfolio performance monitoring, as well performance assessments and deep dives (monthly/quarterly performance meetings and deep dives, scenario planning, Source of business analyses, Patient and HCP journeys, etc.).

  • Drives the omnichannel customer focused activation approach to ensure relevant content (OR/CTR, KPIs, qual. customer feedback, etc.) with high customer frequency (multi-channel CX campaigns) achieves positive HCP perception of ViiV therapies

Stakeholder strategy

  • Leads on defining and maintaining the customer segmentation in order to inform strategy, approach and SAM

  • Expertise in creating compelling customer experiences across digital and traditional channels.

  • Customer-Centric Thinking: Ability to translate insights into impactful marketing initiatives.

  • Responsible for ‘influencers’ strategy predominantly pharmacists strategy

Business Planning

  • Responsible for the preparation and implementation of the Launch and Business Plans, including market level cross-functional alignment, preparation of tertial meetings, and alignment with above market teams (including insight generation, knowledge management, etc.).

  • Bring the German perspective to the framework of co-creation and optimal implementation of global strategies at the local level with an effective cross-functional stakeholder management in local and global teams at director level and above.


Cross-functional collaboration

  • Matrix Leadership: Work effectively with Medical, Market Access, Digital, and Sales teams.

  • Stakeholder Management: Align strategies with internal and external partners

Basic Qualification & Skills required:

  • Master’s or diploma degree (Economics with marketing focus, Marketing, health economics and/or science) or equivalent experience

  • Strong experience in pharmaceuticals product management, ideally specialty care, or other RX therapy areas including OTC.

  • Performance management of team: Build and sustain high-performing teams while fostering an inclusive environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and open conversations underpinned by robust expectation-setting and performance evaluation methodologies

  • Entrepreneurial and strategic leadership capabilities & proven experience with ability to translate portfolio vision into attractive and consistent narrative for the local team.

  • Strong business acumen record, with risk-taking abilities, as well as a strong performance and goal orientation.

  • High digital affinity and experience with multi- channel marketing strategies and their implementation

  • Track record of effective cross-functional and matrix work with effective communication, moderation, negotiation and persuasion skills

  • Ability to adapt and work effectively within a variety of situations including organizational changes and changes in job demands

  • Strong passion for multi-channel topics: self-dependent working-style, ambitious and creative mindset

  • Excellent German and English

Location and Working Model
This role is based in Munich, Germany. The working model is hybrid with a regular on-site presence required for team leadership and cross-functional collaboration. Expectation is 3 days onsite per week.
