Summary

This is the leadership position in IAI Medical Affairs in Germany, reporting to the General Manager Germany with a dotted reporting to Medical Affairs Incyte International in a matrix structure.

This person will actively participate/lead a broad range of IAI (Dermatology as the key priority) medical affairs activities such as launch preparation & strategy support, the preparation of investigator sponsored trial (IST) programs, the leadership & management of the German Medical Science Liaisons (MSL) team and the medical review of Medical Affairs materials/ promotional materials.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute the Incyte International Medical Strategy & launch for AD and HS in Germany.
  • Drive strong belief internally & externally for Ruxolitinib Cream in dermatology
  • Establish and foster key partnerships for Incyte in Dermatology within country
  • Establish and foster valued relationships with key external experts (KEE) in dermatology at both national and local levels
  • Ensure German requirements are accounted for in IAI International/Global plans for dermatology.
  • Actively participate in the German leadership
  • Drive strategic alignment by ensuring that the Brand Team fully incorporates the strategy and that the MSL Team delivers on its execution
  • Provide support to the Value Access and Pricing team for all reimbursement activities with the appropriate authorities for Incyte dermatology therapies
  • Lead the MSL Lead and Medical Affairs Manager to develop and maintain effective relationships with thought leaders and investigators in dermatology (IAI)
  • Oversee the investigational site visits and investigator-initiated research (IIR) in Germany
  • Oversee education and trainings to MSLs and field force as well as appropriate educational materials for patient organizations and patients
  • Participate and/or facilitate data presentation and discussion at national advisory boards and investigator meetings
  • Review medical, promotional and sales training materials for scientific/medical accuracy & compliance
  • Provide medical review and sign-off of medical drug information letters, slides, custom responses, publications, medical education grants, and other medical affairs materials as needed
  • Serve as a scientific/medical expert for IAI dermatology to address questions from healthcare professionals
  • Support site selection, patient recruitment and management of national and international clinical studies
  • Contribute positively to a strong culture of business integrity and ethics
  • Act within compliance and legal requirements as well as within company guidelines and ensure all pharmacovigilance requirements for Incyte therapies are met

Requirements

  • MD or MD/PhD with 5+ years in academic, clinical, or industry setting required
  • Dermatology &/ Immunology experience required
  • Familiarity with GCP/ICH/FDA requirements as well as clinical trial design, biostatistics, medical writing, product safety, and regulatory affairs
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Strong public speaking skills
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Ability to influence and work effectively across functions and operate in a matrix environment
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of working time
