Job Description:

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on, innovative Engineering Intern to join our Process Engineering team focused on developing innovative hemodynamic support devices. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on early-stage process development, rapid prototyping, and testing of novel medical technologies in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design, prototype, procure, and build components and assemblies for products and testing/manufacturing fixtures.
  • Turn concepts into reality by rapidly prototyping using a variety of fabrication techniques (e.g., 3D printing, machining, laser cutting).
  • Support early-stage process development projects for novel hemodynamic support devices.
  • Conduct feasibility testing, analyze and report on test results, and provide clear conclusions and recommendations.
  • Assist in characterization, qualification, and validation activities to establish robust production processes involving equipment and fixtures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure smooth product development and transfer to production.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or equivalent with experience in Mechanical, Biomedical or Medical related fields
  • Interest in the areas of product development and medical devices
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and participate effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Capacity to work under strict timelines
  • Skills design, mechanical testing and validation
  • Basic statistical knowledge

Duration: 3–6 months (with potential for extension)
