
Tech@Lilly Infrastructure Analyst – Hardware and Network

At Lilly in Germany, we are currently planning and building a high-tech production facility in Alzey (Rhineland-Palatinate), which will expand our production of injectable drugs from 2027 and employ up to 1,000 specialists. To make the most of our innovative production site, we are looking for motivated reinforcements who, together with us, will ensure the supply of Lilly medicines in Germany, Europe, and worldwide, in line with the three Lilly values of "Excellence," "Integrity," and "Respect for People."

Responsibilities:
As the Tech@Lilly Infrastructure Analyst (hardware and network), you will support operations, laboratory, process and building automation equipment installation, end user support, and special project custom applications. You will partner with the Site Tech@Lilly leader and other functions, locally and globally, to support changes or maintenance to both the network and IT equipment at the site and to lead the life cycle management of local hardware and network infrastructure. This role provides support for infrastructure systems including workstations, servers, printers, platform applications, operating systems, specialized applications such as video recording, cameras, access control, and local network components among others.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
- Perform technical requirements analysis of workstation and network infrastructure design, including new technical and business requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding requirements, operating system requirements, additional hardware requirements, and costs.
- Install, configure, and maintain workstation and network hardware, software, and any additional components.
- Provide qualified infrastructure and network platforms.
- Train end users on operations of new equipment, workstation software, networking options, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Troubleshoot issues across platforms and networks, including Citrix, RealVNC, VDI, Linux, iGel technology, Win OS, workstation hardware, and telecom/network equipment.
- Serve as consultant for questions regarding infrastructure, compatibility, backup, and configuration issues.
- Provide strategy for immediate and future upgrades of hardware and software applications, including network upgrades.
- Ensure reliable connectivity for manufacturing, administration, and laboratory activities at the site.
- Perform application and operating system upgrades for lab and automation systems.
- Provide supporting documentation for validation and testing of upgrades.
- Assist with validation of new and existing systems by providing technical design information to assure GMP data integrity.
- Participate in and/or represent the department in cross-functional or departmental teams, as requested.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure supporting both hardware and network systems.
- Demonstrated experience managing IT support teams in a 24/7 operational environment, ensuring uptime for critical and high-availability systems.
- Experience providing technical support in regulated manufacturing environments, including laboratories and pharmaceutical operations.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure platforms, including configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in performing application and operating system upgrades for lab and automation systems.
- Knowledge and experience in developing and implementing disaster recovery plans, business continuity strategies, and high-availability solutions.
- Skills in vendor relationship management, contract negotiation, and compliance enforcement to ensure reliable third-party support.
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices to safeguard sensitive data and protect pharmaceutical manufacturing systems.
- Proficiency in ITIL principles (incident, problem, and change management) combined with an Agile mindset to ensure incremental value delivery while maintaining process discipline and service reliability.
- Skilled in using ServiceNow, Jira, and similar tools for IT service management and agile project tracking.
- Hands-on experience with HP-ALM and comparable platforms for test management, validation, and documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address complex IT issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills to maintain high end-user satisfaction.
- Proven ability to perform under high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
- Team-oriented, collaborative, and able to work independently when required.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Exposure to international operations, diverse teams, global IT projects, or working in a global organization.
- Strong pharmaceutical manufacturing site experience.
