Your Role
In the role of CDMO Application Specialist, you are responsible for lead generation and sales support to increase market awareness and drive new business. Additionally, you will be instrumental in enabling and training the CDMO sales team in pursuing new business opportunities. You drive business strategies into the field and fulfill a field-focused role that is close to the customers, regional markets, and local needs with in-depth expertise and knowledge on the respective segment of applications. Furthermore, in collaboration with the global business lead, you drive the continuous monitoring of competitors go to market approach and feedback recommendations on how we could potentially improve/innovate our offer.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Drive lead generation - triage and prioritize target lists provided by strategic marketing and field marketing. Determine technology specific segmentation & offer targeting. Drive outreach activities personally & through the sales team. Leverage LI navigator and other tools to identify and reach target contacts. Craft messaging to support sales outreach and drive non-customer specific targeting.
- Coordinate & monitor the service effectiveness of the outreach approaches and adapt accordingly.
- Work with MarCom on tools to develop and maintain data in nurturing and lead generation.
- Work with other CDMO stakeholders to maximize synergies for lead generation.
- Tactical plans and customer target lists – work with target lists provided by the GBL and field marketing to define priority company targets and the appropriate contact within those companies
- Maximize the ROI from conference and local sales events by supporting sales in targeting and outreach to potential attendees, developing & delivering presentations, gathering competitive intelligence and other collateral as needed.
- Attend tradeshows as needed to support the sales team.
- Deliver lectures at exhibition, trade shows and at professional user groups.
- Develop a strong network across sales and marketing functions within Life Sciences Services (LSS) to drive best practice and synergies in the business.
- Identify fields for innovation and demonstrate potential for new markets, new products and new applications and coordinate access to relevant key contact partners at the customer side.
- Coordinate & gather competitor activity and prepare plans for the sales organization to counter competitive VP.
- Drive cross business unit coordination and sharing best practices in the LSS team.
- Competitive Intelligence – support competitive intelligence gathering through event participation.
- Identify trends in messaging and potential for offer/messaging refinement.
- Provide technical training and expertise.
- Develop technical training materials and deliver to the sales team.
- Support the tactical planning and implementation of new service and product launches.
- As technical SME support content development for the website, marketing materials and customer facing collateral.
- Support sales led activities such as lunch and learns or local networking events as needed
Who You Are:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 5+ years successful experience in the Biopharmaceutical industry
- Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge people across all levels
- Strong competitive awareness
- Good listening skills with the ability to analyze and respond to given situations quickly and effectively
- Excellent verbal and writing communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop and deliver training and seminar programs
- Ability to represent the CDMO organization in front of customers
- Ability to analyze market and financial report
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- Experience in working with Sales Force.com platform is recommended
