The Position

Your department

The Antigen Design & Protein Expression Technologies subchapter is part of the R&D Roche Diagnostics Solution area. We provide globally innovative protein based reagents for their application within Roche Diagnostics as well as biophysical methods for their characterization.

Your Team

The Protein Technology group is a 7-member team with a technological background in biochemistry, biophysics and biotechnology. To strengthen our team we are looking for a new team member who enjoys working on complex problems in a motivated team and with a broad spectrum of methods.

Your objectives/tasks

  • Establishment and application of protein chemical and biophysical analytical methods

  • such as SEC-MALS and RP-HPLC, dynamic and static light scattering, nanoparticle tracking analysis, differential scanning calorimetry and isothermal titration calorimetry, fluorescence spectroscopic methods (e.g. nDSF, MST)

  • Development of manufacturing methods for recombinant proteins and VLPs on a laboratory scale up to the transfer to production

Our ideal candidate

  • A successfully completed master's degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, biology or chemistry

  • Alternatively, an apprenticeship with further training as a technician (m/f/d) or a bachelor's degree with many years of professional experience in biochemistry or protein chemistry

  • You have experience in bioanalytics, protein analysis and protein characterization

  • You have a very good grasp of complex issues, structured thinking and openness to new ideas

  • You enjoy working in a team and you are a team player

  • You want to work on and solve difficult problems under time pressure using your skills independently and on your own responsibility

  • You have stamina when it comes to sometimes having to persistently stick to something

  • You also have a very good command of English and are fluent in German

This position is limited to 2 years.
