We are looking for a Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) (m/f/d) Rheumatology for the north-eastern part of Germany including Berlin/Rostock who is agile with a drive to build strong lasting relationships and who has an enthusiastic innovative mindset to come join our Patient Impact department, to be based in Germany.

This will be a fixed term contract for 14 months to cover a parental leave.

About the Role

We are looking for a Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) – Rheumatology, to join our Patient Impact team. In this role, you will act as a trusted scientific partner within the local health ecosystem, fostering purposeful collaborations with key scientific influencers. Your mission is to drive new sources of patient value through scientific exchange, disease state discussions, and treatment algorithm optimization, ensuring UCB therapies are understood and appropriately positioned for the right patient segments.

Who You Will Work With

As the MSL Rheumatology you are the scientific discussion partner that interacts with national and international Thought Leaders (Key opinion leaders: KOLs), and other healthcare professionals (HCPs) at various phases of the product life cycle. You work externally and internally, and closely with an integrated team across functions. You like to work independently with a team player approach, and you will report to the Field Medical Lead Rheumatology.

What You Will Do

  • Identify and manage key scientific and medical influencers proactively based on local ecosystem dynamics
  • Explore and implement innovative solutions and services to create new sources of patient value
  • Generate and manage product and disease state data (e.g., IIS, audits, RWE)
  • Support clinical studies and share insights with the R&D team
  • Serve as the leading local scientific expert for UCB solutions
  • Collaborate with market access colleagues to present RWE and clinical information to payers and formulary committees
  • Liaise with global medical teams and cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Patient Safety, Regulatory Affairs)

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • Advanced degree in life sciences (MD, PhD, or equivalent)
  • Strong medical, scientific, and therapeutic area expertise in Rheumatology or Immunology
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and act as a scientific leader
  • Experience as MSL or in field job roles
  • Experience in evidence generation and interpretation (RWE, clinical data)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills tailored to diverse stakeholders
  • Permanent residence in the advertised area
